Diva Challenge #215 - Labyrinth

I know it's hard to believe, but yes, under all the flair and frill and scribbly lines my labyrinth is there. ^_^

Tangles used: Antidots, Flux, Mooka, Fescu, Featherfall, Opus, Sprigs, Pokeleaf, Tipple, Locar

I swear, every single challenge I try and pack more and more tangles in. Probably never going to top my response for Amanda Day, though. I hope. ^_^ The Micron I used to draw this is now resting in peace in the little pen graveyard that is that one corner on my desk ^_^

Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

P.S. check out my weekly challenge by clicking on the "Tangleation Vocation" tab at the bottom of the page.
EDIT: Whoop, it's not at the bottom anymore! I just reconfigured it so that the labels are displayed right at the side. Just so nobody gets confused. ^_^
EDIT 2: Check out my new blog for non-Zentangle abstract art over at myjourneyinblackandwhite.blogspot.com!

Tangleation Vocation #9: Pokeroot by Zentangle

I finally got my hands on some color Microns! Yay! As expected, they're fabulous...although my color shading really could use some work ^_^ This was the first thing I did with them - a Bijou tile featuring a fairly simple tangleation of Chocobox.

Tangles used: Chocobox, Opus, Msst

Moving on, the tangle to play with this week is Pokeroot, one of my favorite official Zentangle patterns alongside Pokeleaf, Mooka, and Opus. Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

Diva Challenge #214 - Amanda Day/Earth Day (Round 4!)

What fun! This is my first time participating in an Amanda Day Diva Challenge. Credit for drawing the continents goes to my mom, since I can't "actually" draw worth a flip. Ah well, tangling's good enough for me! ^_^

Tangles used: (Starting at the top and going clockwise) Growth, Flux, Ansu, Opus, Aura-Leah, Pokeroot, Fescu, Maddie 2, Dyon, Ovy, Antidots, Pokeleaf, Zinger, Lazy Eights, Kelp, Garlic Cloves, Bunzo

Also - I'm going to try to keep up my tangle journal (though I might just switch to making sure I tangle every single day, the lines are pretty distracting and the paper isn't fun at all to draw on), but I'm probably not going to post what I do, since the results are almost always rushed and mediocre, and I'm really lazy and don't like taking a bunch of photos of work I'm not satisfied with. Oh well.

Also-make sure to check out my Tangleation Vocation Challenge here! Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

Tangleation Vocation #8: Chocobox by Didier Gervy

Last week's Vocation - Eke - was surprisingly hard for me, but I think what I came up with is credible. I used a blocky Eke with filled-in auras, some rounded Eke, and a wonky half-Eke, as well as the original tangle. Not the best Zentangle I've done, but it sure was fun (hey, that rhymes ^_^).
Tangles used: Eke, Meringue, Fescu

Your challenge this week is to use the tangle Chocobox by Didier Gervy. Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

Diva Challenge #213 - Traced Object Strings AND Tangle Journal, Week 1

I don't really have much to say, so...I'll just give you a barrage of images!

For the Diva Challenge. I didn't really have any interesting things to trace, so I just took a circular coaster and made 4 intersecting arcs as my string. This was done on Strathmore gray paper.
Tangles used: Bales, Mooka, Flux, Hurry, Sanibelle, Balloya
And my tangle journal, week one. Day 6 somehow got skipped, even though I remember doing it, so...um...yeah. A lot of these have appeared in my previous blog posts.
Tangles used: Flux, Paushalov, Bales, Opus, Printemps, Dyon, Striping

Tangles used: Fanz, Crescent Moon, Opus, Courant, Keeko

Tangles used: Auraknot, Stickers
This one was for an It's a String Thing Challenge.
Tangles used: Brella

Tangles used: Auraknot, Bud, Cat-Kin
Talk about half-baked. How did I manage to run out of time on a Sunday?!
Tangles used: Gottago
Well, there you go. Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

Tangleation Vocation #7: Eke by Zentangle

I finally came up with some nice-looking results for a Vocation! Yay! ^_^
Both of these drawings are in my newly-started tangle journal, which you can read about here. On the top one I simply put Auraknot in a flower-like curvy shape, while on the bottom one I made the initial "weaves" much thicker on one side, and filled them in with lines.
Tangles used: Auraknot, Stickers

Tangles used: Auraknot, Cat-Kin, Bud
Your challenge this week is to play with the official pattern Eke. Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

Diva Challenge #212 - UMT: Fanz by Susan Goetter

Hurrah! I actually participated in another Diva Challenge! I know it's kind of pathetic that me, a high school student, is complaining about not having enough time for things, and there a ton of adults out there with jobs that have way less time for things - but I don't have enough time for things ^_^

I've used Fanz a couple times before, and it's a really fun pattern. Definitely requires some concentration to get all the auras nice and neat, of course.

Tangles used: Fanz, Crescent Moon, Opus, Courant, Keeko
Now, time to explain why it's on lined paper. My last personal challenge didn't really go anywhere - I think I got through 5 strings - but I'm doing another one anyways. I found a small journal somewhere deep in my room, so I'm going to try and tangle on page every day until I'm out of room. I'll (hopefully) post every week 7 pages (This one's number two). Enjoy and be inspired! ^_^

Also - check out my 6th Tangleation Vocation Challenge here! It's pretty self-explanatory. I hope.

Tangleation Vocation #6: Auraknot by Zentangle

So sorry about not putting up a Vocation last week - I was in Texas for an academic competition and didn't have access to a computer all weekend.

Anyways.

Your challenge this week is to play with the official Zentangle pattern Auraknot - I already have some ideas with this so hopefully I can whip up some nice results ^_^ Enjoy and be inspired!
